NAME: DR. HOWARD S. RHYNE, FOOTPRINTS, VOL. I, YEAR 8, PG. 27.
HUSBAND MENTIONED AS A GERMAN CATHOLIC DOCTOR: REIN BOOK, VOL 2, PG 2.
BIRTH & DEATH: REIN BOOK, VOL 2, PG 42.
A GERMAN DOCTOR WHO WAS CATHOLIC WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE KIDNAPPED
LZZIE, PROBABLY ELOPED AROUND 1800 AND HER FATHER, ADAM HUNTED 4
YEARS TO FIND HER. HE FOUND HER IN GEORGIA, TOOK SOME OF HIS SLAVES, WENT
TO GEORGIA AND KILLED THE DOCOTR WHO HAD MARRIED LIZZIE. HE BROUGHT
LIZZIE, HER SON MOSES AND HER DAUGHTER REBECCA BACK TO NORTH CAROLINA
AND RAISED THEM AS CLONINGERS. ADAM NEVER RECOGNIZED THE MARRIAGE AS
HE HAD A RIGHT TO IN THAT DAY. HE ALSO LEFT HER OUT OF HIS WILL.

!At the bottom of her memorial it states that she was left out out of her father's will as he had a right to in that day. I found a deed made in Lincoln County, North Carolina in 1814 where she was given property by her father Adam Cloninger Sr. about four years before he died in 1818. This is why she was not listed in his will. She had already gotten her part. BRUCE CLONINGER, Confvet@aol.com
