      !Her obituary in the "Centre Daily Times" of Sunday 10 May 1998 read: "Kathryn L. Smith, 85, of Bellefonte, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at Centre Community Hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1913, in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Frank W. and Gussie L. Passmore Smith. On Aug. 15, 1941, she married Allen W. Smith, who survives at home. She was a 1930 graduate of Clearfield High School, a 1933 graduate of Lock Haven Teachers College, and a 1963 graduate of Lock Haven State College with a bachelor of arts degree in education. She was a teacher for the Bellefonte Area School system, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Amaranth and teh Order of the Eastern Star, both of Centre Hall, and a member of Crystal Spring Rebekah Lodge 25. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Linda Kaye Sant of Bellefonte; two sons, Douglas Allen of Bellefonte and Dwight William of State College; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. There will be no public visitation. The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. David A. Keller officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes St., Belelfonte, Pa. 16823."
