      !Her obituary in the "Centre Daily Times" of Tue. 25 May 1999 read: "Carrie E. Houser, 94, of Lititz, formerly of State College, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at home. She was born April 18, 1905, in Harris Township, a daughter of the late George and Annie Rossman Markle. She married Merrill E. Houser, who died in November 1977. She was a homemaker and a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lancaster. She is survived by three daughters, Dolores Frederick of Mill Hall, Shirley White of Kansas City, Mo., and Ellen L. H. Shinton of Lititz; three sons, G. Donald of Austin, Texas, Dean C. of Dallastown, and Robert E. of Burbank, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A son, William G., preceded her in death. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Houserville Cemetery, College Township. Spacht Funeral Home in Lititz is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association of Lancaster County and VNA Hospice, P.O. Box 3232, Lancaster, Pa. 17604-3232."
