Houser of Valley View was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mountainview unit of Centre Community Hospital on Friday at 4:30 p.m. She was born in Bellefonte, Jan. 23, 1888, the daughter of Andrew and Nannie Wells Spicer. In 1909 she married Miles Houser, who survives with the following children: Mrs. Andrew Bilger, Pleasant Gap; Russell R., Tucson, Ariz.; Willis C., Morris L., and Ralph, all of Bellefonte RD 1; Mrs. Ethel Johnstonbaugh and Mrs. Harold Corman, Bellefonte and Earl, Bellefonte RD 3. Thirty-one grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive, together with these brothers and sisters: Malcolm and Raymond Spicer, Bellefonte RD 4; Arthur Spicer, Centre Hall; Mrs. Alice Lannen, Bellefonte; Mrs. Ethel Longwell, Tucson, Ariz.; and Mrs. Grace Wren, Baltimore, Md. Mrs. Houser was a member of the United Methodist Church of Valley View. Funeral services will be held at the Wetzler Funeral Home, Bellefonte, Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Alfred E. Gotwalt of Buffalo Run officiating. Burial will follow in the Meyer Cemetery, Benner Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m." !Great grammy Houser was a loving, kind soul who enjoyed church. She often would derive great pleasure solely from seeing her family happy. She had beautiful, long hair. She was nearly always happy and content. She lost the tip of her little finger in a sledding accident when it was pinched off about 1897. She simply had the finger stump bandaged and continued playing.
