      !WILL:
      In the name of God Amen, I, JACOB SPANGLER of Paradise Township in the County of York and State of Pennsylvania am at present in a state of good health and of a sound mind, memory and understanding, but considering the certainly of the death but the uncertainly of the time thereof, and so that I may be the better prepared to leave this world when God shall please to call me from hence, I do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in the manner following that is to say I command my soul into the hands of the Almighty God who gave it and my body to the earth from whence it was taken, and that to such worldly estate wherewith it had pleased God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follow that is to say my will is that my just debt together with my funeral expenses shall be paid as soon after my decease as can conveniently can be. My will is that all my personal estate shall be appraised and after such an appraisement my will is that my beloved wife CATHERINE shall keep so much of my personal estate that she shall stand in need of and the residue shall be sold by my executor herein after named. And my will is that all my real estate shall be sold by my executor (except so much that my son JOHN SPANGLER has in possession at present) and the money arising therefrom shall be paid as follows, my will is the one thousand dollars shall remain unpaid during my wifes lifetime. That is only in the place where I now live and the interest thereof shall be paid yearly to my said wife during her lifetime and at her death the said one thousand dollars shall be paid to my hereinafter named children, all the money which shall come out of my personal estate and real estate, shall be paid as follows my will that my beloved wife CATHERINE shall have six hundred dollars out of the first money that shall come into the hands of my executors and then my will is that those of my children that I have advanced money or other things charged in my books shall not draw any money till those that are less or not charged at all shall have as much as the one that has The most and when they are all even then my will is that they shall all have an equal share that is to say my son John shall have an equal share and my grand children born from my son DANIEL SPANGLER shall have an equal share and be paid to their guardian, my son MICHAEL SPANGLER shall have an equal share, my son Henry shall have an equal share, my son Jacob shall have an equal share, my son JONAS SPANGLER shall have an equal share, my daughter LYDIA intermarried with BARNEY SPANGLER shall have an equal share and my daughter ELIZABETH shall have an equal share. My son JOHN SPANGLER shall have the said above stated for which he shall be charged forty five dollars per acre. He shall have it as long as he lives and if his wife should survive him then she shall be entitled to the use of the one third during her lifetime or widowhood and at both -------- death it shall go for the use of his children. I do hereby authorize my herein after named executors to sell all my real estate except as above exception to the best advantage they can and make good and lawful title to the purchasers as I might or could have done.
      And lastly I nominate, constitute my son Henry Spangler and my son JACOB SPANGLER my executors of this my Last Will and Testament hereby - and making null and void all former wills by me heretofore made. In witness whereof, I, the said JACOB SPANGLER have hereunto set my hand and seal the twentieth day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty six.
